Radio Internship

Hello Musicaholics,

Recently, I joined a radio station for an internship as a radio jockey. It’s a three-month internship program with no incentives. I’m learning how to write links (lines between songs and typical RJ content) and practicing storytelling. The very first story I wrote was about a girl named Suraiyya, who earns her living by dancing on the road, showcasing her misery and determination.

The Radio organized a singing competition on the occasion of the late Mukesh Ji's birthday on August 27th. I participated and came 2nd in my category. There were various artists and instrumentalists.

It’s always fun to meet new musicians, get to know their stories, and learn something from them. This is the connection we musicians crave, and deep down, we are very kind and want everything to be in place and perfect.

Indian Idol Auditions

Hello, Musicaholics,

Indian Idol—the one reality show in India that is a dream come true for many musicians. The day was August 25th—Indian Idol Delhi auditions. I participated but failed in the first round. Firstly, it was due to a frog in my voice, and again, I can't say it was the only reason. I believe maybe I don't have the skills yet. I couldn't show my true potential.

Then again, there is nothing to be sad about or to worry about. I'll get other chances to showcase my talent.

The lesson I learned is: Take care of your voice, your instruments, and anything that can affect your performance.

I have another competition in two days to prepare for, so let's see if the things I experienced today can be helpful.

WHO , WHAT , WHY ?

Hello, musicaholics! This is my very first blog, so it will only be an introduction to who I am, what I do, and the purpose of this blog.

My name is Shiva Mishra, and I am a singer, songwriter, and composer. I have written over 30 songs, which will be published sooner or later because, as of today, I don't have the resources.

I will share my journey with you all as a musician starting today. You will get to know me better, and if someone in the future wants to be a musician, I think they can go through my journey and get an idea of how everything works. That is the purpose of this blog series, "Chronicles of a Musician."
